Job Details: Job Location: Headquarters - Terrytown, LA, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Company Description: John W. Stone Oil Distributor, LLC is the local leader in dockside, mid-streaming, and offshore fueling along the Mississippi River, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Venice, Louisiana, and into the Gulf of Mexico. Position: Hedge Accountant Reports To: Director of Financial Reporting Worksite: Terrytown, Louisiana. Work Schedule: 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Weekend rotations, on call and overtime will be required on an as needed Essential Job Duties: Compute, review, and analyze daily trades against physical product cost to verify cost vs market price determining success of the trade Understand the products in the fund and their corresponding trades. Prepare/Post/Reconcile daily/monthly transactions analyzing GAAP reporting vs product trades. Data analysis to monitor and audit hedge funds for fraud, errors, and discrepancies Establish good working relationships with the Operations department and the traders Work closely with traders to develop investment strategies and improve various operations of the hedge fund This job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the employer. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Good verbal and written communication skills Able to work independently and with minimal direction 2-5 years accounting/audit/tax experience with exposure to hedge funds or other alternative investments
