Role summary
KEV is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead two product-focused engineering teams within its fundraising portfolio. This role involves managing Engineering Leads, aligning with Product on priorities, and ensuring predictable, on-time delivery. The manager will also focus on people development, capacity planning, and building leadership depth. The position requires a strong background in SaaS architecture, including React, .NET, API-driven microservices, and Azure, with at least 8 years of software engineering experience and 5 years in management. The role emphasizes leading through others, technical direction, and fostering team health within an Agile framework. KEV offers competitive compensation, benefits, retirement savings support, professional development, and a hybrid work model.
Who We Are:
KEV builds mission-critical financial software for K12 schools across North America. Our platform provides real-time visibility and control over how funds are collected and managed, replacing fragmented workflows with secure, modern systems that schools rely on every day.
Trusted by more than 27,000 K12 schools managing over $8B annually, KEV delivers mission-critical software for payments, accounting, and reporting, where reliability and security matter. Headquartered in Toronto with teams across North America, we are scaling quickly and investing deeply in cloud-native, data-driven technology.
KEV is a place for people who care about building durable software at scale and doing work that has real impact in public education. We focus on solving hard problems, raising the bar on engineering craft, and building products that earn long-term trust from the communities we serve.
About the Role
We are hiring a Engineering Manager to lead two product-focused engineering teams within KEV’s fundraising portfolio—products that directly support how schools raise and manage critical funds. The first team owns LunchBox, our school lunch ordering solution used daily by schools to support fundraising and meal operations on a scale. The second team will build and scale KEV’s Fundraising Platform, enabling campaign management and web stores that power student clubs, sports teams, and extracurricular activities across thousands of schools.
You will manage the Engineering Leads who run day-to-day execution within each team, sitting between the VP of Engineering and the Leads. You’ll work with Product to align on portfolio priorities, then hold your Leads and their teams accountable for turning that roadmap into predictable, on-time, quality delivery. You’ll also own the people side of the portfolio: developing your Leads into stronger managers and technical leaders, planning capacity, and building the leadership bench the portfolio needs as it grows.
This is a senior engineering leadership role for someone who leads through other leaders, but still owns real technical ground. You will set technical direction for teams working in React, .NET, and API-driven microservices on Azure, making the pragmatic calls on architecture, modernization, and scalability that the portfolio needs. The job is defined by delivery ownership, team health, and long-term organizational thinking just as much as by that technical range.
