Location: Keyence U.S. Headquarters – Itasca, IL
Total Compensation (Base + Bonus): $83,826
What You'll Do
As a Supply Planning Analyst, you'll play a key role in deciding what we stock and how much: forecasting demand, placing purchase orders with our parent company in Japan and local suppliers, and finding the weak spots in our inventory rules before they turn into stockouts or excess stock. You’ll start by mastering daily ordering and inventory review, then grow into owning forecasting and inventory strategy for your product lines. No prior purchasing experience is required; we train from the ground up.
-
Forecast demand using sales history and input from product marketing and sales teams.
-
Place and manage purchase orders with our parent company to maintain product availability.
-
Manage the monthly forecast and procurement of capital items in direct communication with our parent company.
-
Analyze min/max reorder triggers to find weak links, and recommend adjustments that prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
-
Source and purchase specialty items from local suppliers, including quotes, purchase orders, and delivery follow-up.
-
Manage small parts inventory levels using our proprietary inventory systems.
-
Lead slow-moving inventory review and coordinate with the warehouse team on disposition of low-turnover items.
-
Use historical data to set monthly inventory budgets for sales lines.
-
Review customer orders and release them to the fulfillment center for processing.
-
Act as the go-between for Sales, Customer Service, and customers on product availability.
-
Create and maintain SOPs and recommend process improvements.
-
Provide general support to the Supply Chain team as needed.
What We're Looking For
-
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or any major with process improvement experience (e.g., Lean/Six Sigma)
-
Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
-
Strong attention to detail and comfort with high-volume, recurring data review
Preferred Skills
-
Internship or coursework in purchasing, inventory management, or operations
-
Urgent, with a long-term mindset: fixes today’s shortage quickly, then adjusts the inventory rules so it doesn’t happen again
-
Analytical: comfortable with both numbers and processes; balances product availability against inventory cost
-
Organized & Dependable: prioritizes tasks and owns recurring deadlines without reminders
-
Customer Service: service-minded, with clear written and verbal communication across sales, customer service, and international colleagues
What We Offer
-
Base Salary: $64,150
-
Bonus Target: $19,676 annually (performance-based), paid quarterly
