Role summary

Kj's Market is seeking an Assistant Deli/Bakery Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for ensuring excellent guest service, achieving sales and profit goals, managing inventory, and maintaining operational and sanitation standards for the deli/bakery department. The Assistant Manager will also provide training and feedback to department hosts, manage labor budgets, and perform product preparation and stocking as needed. The ideal candidate has a friendly personality, strong communication and customer service skills, knowledge of deli operations, and the ability to supervise and develop staff.

Responsibilities

Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the deli/bakery department hosts.

Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the deli/bakery department.

Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.

Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.

Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Floco Foods standards.

Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Floco Foods standards.

Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure deli/bakery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.

Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guests service as necessary to achieve standards.

Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.

Performs PA announcements.

Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Friendly, outgoing personality.

Ability to work well with others.

Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.

Ability to read and understand information and direction.

Knowledge of deli operations.

Ability to supervise hosts including training and development.

Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.

Effective communication, guests service and selling skills.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.

Ability to effectively communicate with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.

Ability to work well with computers.
