Role summary

Kokua Education is seeking part-time substitute teachers for K-12 schools in the Maple Grove, MN area for the 2026-27 school year. This role offers flexible scheduling, with the potential to earn up to $195 per day. Responsibilities include classroom management, student supervision, and potentially tutoring or proctoring. Candidates need a Bachelor's degree and a MN Substitute Teaching License or Educator's License, though assistance is provided for obtaining the license. A minimum of 6 months of experience working with children is required, and candidates should be willing to work at least 2 days per week.     • You’re a great fit if you:

  • Have at least 6 months working with kids in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Hold a MN Substitute Teaching License or Educators license
  • Don't have your license yet? No worries! We'll walk you through the quick online application process, and reimburse you for out of pocket costs once you start teaching.
  • Feel confident managing a classroom of students
  • Are willing to step in where needed - this could include lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season
  • Are willing to work at least 2 days/week
  • Pass state & federal background checks (costs reimbursed after 10 assignments)
  • Believe every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world
