Role summary

Kokua Education is seeking part-time substitute teachers for the 2026-27 school year in the Leon Valley and surrounding San Antonio area. Earn up to $172/day, paid weekly, with flexible scheduling up to 5 days a week. The role requires at least 1 year of experience working with children in any capacity, completion of 48+ college credit hours, and the ability to manage a classroom. Responsibilities include teaching assignments, lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring. Candidates must pass background checks and possess a belief in every child's potential. Offers are typically made within one week of application.

    • You’re a great fit if you:

  • Have at least 1 year working with kids in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
  • Completed 48+ college credit hours
  • Feel confident managing a classroom of students
  • Are willing to step in where needed - this could include lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season
  • Pass state & federal background checks (costs reimbursed after 10 assignments)
  • Believe every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world
