Role summary

Langan is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer specializing in Hydraulic and Hydrology for its DFW metroplex team. This role involves assisting with H&H design, permitting, and analysis for various land development projects. Responsibilities include performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, preparing engineering documents using software like AutoCAD Civil 3D, and applying engineering principles. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, 2+ years of related experience, proficiency in HEC-RAS and AutoCAD Civil 3D, and experience in site/civil design elements such as grading and stormwater management. EIT certification or eligibility is also required.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer – Hydraulic and Hydrology to join its collaborative team in the DFW metroplex (DAL, CEL, or FW). This individual will serve a key function in assisting with H&H design, permitting, and analysis of engineering and environmental projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in site/civil engineering design for industrial, mixed-use, residential, higher education, federal, and other exciting land development projects in a continuous learning environment.

Job Responsibilities

Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling solutions for various public and private client projects; provide analysis for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects;

Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, design plans, specifications, construction schedules and engineer’s estimates for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.);

Effectively use available maps, drawings, engineering plans/reports and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects;

Recommend new approaches and ideas that continuously improve efficiency and services performed;

Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics;

Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments; and

Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; concentration in Water Resources preferred;

2+ years of related experience;

Proficiency with HEC-RAS, AutoCAD Civil 3D;

EIT Certification or current registration for the FE exam;

Professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and

Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
