Role summary

Latitude is seeking a Triage Associate I for their Platform Triage team, focusing on second shift operations (12:30PM - 9:00PM PST). This contract role involves analyzing large datasets from vehicle testing programs (on-road, track, simulations) to identify and track vehicle performance issues. The associate will use internal tools to examine sensor data and autonomy visualizations, troubleshoot hardware/software issues in real-time, and document issue context and causes. This role acts as a communication hub between various engineering teams, directly contributing to system and machine learning algorithm improvements for autonomous vehicle development. A High School Diploma/GED with two years of employment experience is required, with an Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Meet the team:

Latitude's Triage Operations team is a growing group of experts specializing in our vehicle technology and programs. We analyze large datasets from our comprehensive testing program, encompassing on-road testing, closed-course track testing, virtual simulations, and re-simulations of real-world driving logs. This analysis allows for us to identify, classify, and track vehicle performance issues and improvements. Triage Operations serves as a vital communication hub, connecting Operations, Systems Engineering, Virtual Test, and Autonomy teams to ensure a fully integrated engineering lifecycle. The insights generated directly improve our systems and machine learning algorithms, enabling us to continuously learn from challenging scenarios and enhance vehicle performance.

Expected hours of work for second shift support: 12:30PM - 9:00PM PST

What you’ll do:

  • Evaluate vehicle test data utilizing a variety of internal tooling and logs, including analyzing detailed charts and signals within an internal software environment
  • Understand the context of an issue by examining sensor data (lidar, radar, etc.), visualizations from autonomy toolings (e.g. planned path, lane boundaries, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues of test vehicles in real time, providing live feedback and actionable steps for in-vehicle operators
  • Monitor and document the context (what is happening) and identify possible cause (why is it happening, which module is responsible) of a variety of issues
  • Work in an operational but fast-paced environment emphasizing your attention to detail
  • Work closely with team members and internal management to identify and escalate problems

    • What you'll need to succeed:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with two years of employment experience required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Flexibility in working hours and shift support
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
  • Ability to successfully learn and execute analytical based skills to assess the cause, impact, and severity of issues while following detailed documentation
  • Strong attention to detail with repetitive tasks
  • Excellent communication skills to work with other team members
  • Willingness to quickly adapt to changes in both processes and tasks
  • Interest and desire to work in the development of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS)

    • Nice to have:

  • Experience working with ADAS automation testing products
  • Experience working in a customer facing environment
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets experience
  • Strong Slack and Jira experience
  • Experience working in a software/IT, operational or STEM environment
  • Experience using dashboarding software such as Looker or Superset

    The expected hourly pay range for this contract position in California is $26.39 - $39.59/hour USD. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
