Role summary
Loft Orbital is seeking a Test Engineer to design, plan, and execute test campaigns for spacecraft and subsystems. This role involves hands-on testing, including environmental and functional procedures, data analysis, and reporting. The Test Engineer will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and software teams, and may support on-orbit operations. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience, 2-5 years in hardware testing, and familiarity with test methods, standards, data acquisition, and scripting are required. Experience with EGSE and requirements verification is preferred.
As a Test Engineer at Loft Orbital, you’ll design, plan, and run the test campaigns that prove our space hardware is ready for the real thing. You’ll get your hands on everything from individual subsystems to fully integrated spacecraft, putting them through environmental, functional, and automated testing. And when our satellites launch, your work doesn’t stop at the cleanroom door: you’ll periodically join our on-orbit team to help commission and operate live missions.
You’ll be at the center of the action, working side by side with design, manufacturing, and software teams to build test plans, execute environmental and functional procedures and scripts, and dig into the data to confirm every satellite and component meets its mission requirements. Along the way, you’ll build expertise across a wide range of complex aerospace hardware and software, on a fast-moving team that values collaboration and technical excellence.
