Role summary

Seeking a Senior Project Manager/Release Train Engineer (RTE) for a high-visibility delivery ecosystem focused on Claims & Pricing within the insurance sector. This role blends scaled agile facilitation (PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums) with traditional project management (capacity, costs, schedules). The key focus is on performance metrics, including flow efficiency and increment predictability, using data to inform senior management decisions. The projects are multi-year, multi-team, involving both business and IT components. Experience with Azure DevOps and a strong understanding of insurance operations are essential. Familiarity with AI productivity tools for automation is a plus.

Mandate Overview:

  • The client is looking for a senior project manager who acts as an RTE in a high-visibility delivery ecosystem. The role combines two areas: scaled agile facilitation (PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, PO Sync, System Demo) and traditional project management (capacity, costs, schedules, steering committees). The uniqueness of the assignment lies in the performance angle: the client wants someone who measures the flow efficiency, the predictability of increments, and turns this data into decisions for senior management. The projects are multi-year, multi-team, with business and IT components and parallel deliveries. The interest in AI (GitHub Copilot, M365 Copilot) is aimed at automating reports and anticipating risks, not at an AI project role.
  • Target candidate: a project manager with 5 to 8+ years of experience who has held an RTE role for at least 3 years, with demonstrated PI Planning and coordination of multiple teams. They work driven by metrics (flow, predictability, ADO dashboards) and know how to present to an executive committee. Experience in insurance is a plus, ideally in claims or pricing.

Requirements

Required:

  • RTE role: coordination of multiple teams, PI Planning facilitation, Scrum of Scrums, PO Sync and System Demo
  • Agile or hybrid context at scale (SAFe, Kanban at scale, or Lean Portfolio Management)
  • Knowledge of IT (development, architecture, Azure DevOps, ADO dashboards)
  • Understanding of the insurance sector (rating, claims)
  • Mobilizing leadership, executive communication, team coaching

Preferred:

  • Performance management through metrics and flow indicators, visibility, ADO dashboards, LeanKit or Planview AgilePlace, Power BI
  • Demonstrated curiosity about AI and generative AI applied to delivery

Asset:

  • DevOps delivery maturity (CI/CD, test automation, release management)
  • Use of AI productivity tools (GitHub Copilot, M365 Copilot)

Profiles to Exclude:

  • Profile mentioning Scrum or SAFe without demonstrated responsibility for coordinating multiple teams (Scrum Master of just one team).
  • Traditional project manager profile without PI Planning or an agile-at-scale framework.
  • Agile coach or SPC profile focused on training, without responsibility for delivery or reporting to a steering committee.
  • Release Manager (deployments) profile presented as RTE, without facilitating ceremonies at scale.
  • Profile mentioning project management without any performance metrics (flow, predictability, dashboard).
