Role summary
MACOM, a global leader in advanced semiconductor products for Data Centers, Telecommunications, Industrial, and Aerospace and Defense markets, is seeking a Design Engineer for its Cork office. The role involves simulating and designing high-frequency integrated circuits using CAE tools, completing design reviews, developing test plans, evaluating prototypes in the lab, characterizing RF performance, troubleshooting design and test issues, and designing RF PCB layouts with a focus on signal integrity. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electronic Engineering and a good understanding of RF concepts. Familiarity with high-frequency design tools like ADS and Cadence is preferred. This is an onsite, full-time position for a recent graduate.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Simulate and design high-frequency integrated circuits using market-leading CAE tools
• Complete design reviews and develop test plans for validation procedures
• Evaluate prototype designs in state-of-the-art laboratory.
• Characterization of RF performance using Network analyzers.
• Trouble shoot design and test issues.
• Design RF PCB layouts, reviewing and testing for signal integrity.
• Work within a multi-disciplined project team.

• Good interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to work well in a global team environment
