Role summary
Madison Energy Infrastructure seeks a Senior Director, Digital Infrastructure Partnerships to lead and own partnerships with digital infrastructure customers like Aggregators, Hyperscalers, and Edge Data Centers. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role is critical for securing partnerships and investment-grade offtake to meet ambitious Community Infrastructure goals by 2028. The Senior Director will manage the full partnership lifecycle, structure financeable deals, coordinate community benefits, and represent MEI at industry events. This role requires a self-directed commercial dealmaker with deep existing relationships and understanding of digital infrastructure power demands, comfortable with negotiation and independent work. A Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in business development/origination within relevant infrastructure transactions are required.
The Role
Following Madison’s groundbreaking Community Infrastructure announcement to develop 1 GW and mobilize up to $2 billion in capital, we are seeking to make a critical hire to lead and own partnerships with digital infrastructure customers and partners (Aggregators, Hyperscalers, Edge Data Centers, and other large power users in the digital space). This pivotal person will report directly to the Chief Development Officer and be responsible for securing the crucial partnerships and investment-grade offtake — at an acceptable price and term, for a specified volume — that will allow MEI to meet its ambitious Community Infrastructure goals.
Working closely with Development, Origination, Commercial Analysis, Regulatory/Policy, Legal, and the MEI Executive Team, the Senior Director will own the evolution of partnerships and customer relationships from the first conversation, into memorandum of understanding and exclusivity, and into binding commercial agreements. This is a partnership-oriented role built on durable, high-trust relationships where success is measured through executed term sheets and binding agreements that convert into megawatts under contract.
As part of our Community Infrastructure announcement, we defined a new goal to Build Here. Benefit Here whereby we are attempting to partner with local communities, utilities, government agencies, etc. to listen to their concerns with power/data center development and develop our projects in ways that benefit local communities. This person will be critical in coordinating that story with the community benefits teams at Digital Infrastructure Companies and at times also acting as the face of our efforts in those local communities.
This role is ideal for a self-directed commercial dealmaker who is comfortable working partnerships and attending conferences independently, can tactically and respectfully hold firm in customer/partner negotiation, and has a keen sense of where to spend time and who to spend it with. Deep existing relationships within and understanding of the power demands of digital infrastructure is a must.
