We're hiring a full-time Employee Relations Manager in North Hollywood to own employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and manager coaching across our Operations teams (Production, Manufacturing, Facilities, Lab, Quality Control, Inventory, Distribution, and Transportation), and to lead culture initiatives companywide. Reporting to our Chief Human Resources Officer, you'll run thorough, defensible investigations, guide managers through PIPs and corrective action, and build their confidence to address performance on their own. If you have 5+ years in HR, including 3+ years of hands-on employee relations for hourly workforces in California, and have led workplace investigations end to end, we'd like to hear from you.

Located in the San Fernando Valley, convenient to Burbank, Studio City, Van Nuys, Glendale, and Sherman Oaks.

What You'll Do
  • Lead intake, planning, and investigation of workplace complaints in Operations, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct
  • Interview complainants, respondents, and witnesses; make credibility determinations and write clear, defensible findings reports and closure letters
  •  Maintain a complete case log and supporting documentation for every employee relations matter
  • Escalate matters with potential legal exposure to the CHRO promptly, with a clear summary of facts and risks
  • Advise Operations managers on documentation, performance improvement plans (PIPs), final warnings, and termination readiness
  • Prepare and review PIPs, warning documents, and termination risk reviews before action is taken
  • Coach managers through difficult conversations and build their ability to handle performance and conduct issues directly
  • Build and deliver manager training on feedback, documentation, and accountability
  • Track employee relations trends across Operations, flag patterns by team or manager, and deliver a quarterly ER trend report to the CHRO
  • Partner with Operations leaders on talent and organizational effectiveness reviews
  • Own companywide culture initiatives, events, and recognition programs from planning through execution, including budgets, logistics, and vendors
  • Partner with leaders across all departments to drive employee participation and engagement
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of HR experience, including 3+ years focused on employee relations for hourly workforces
  • Experience leading and documenting workplace investigations end to end
  • Employee relations experience in California
  • Experience guiding managers through PIPs, corrective action, and terminations
  • Working knowledge of federal employment law (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA) and California employment law (FEHA, CFRA, harassment-training, and final-pay requirements)
  •  Understanding of investigation standards, including preponderance of evidence, credibility factors, and retaliation prevention
  • Precise, consistent written documentation and strong case management skills across many open matters
  • Ability to stay neutral and credible with all parties, deliver candid feedback, and influence without direct authority
  •  Experience facilitating training and leading groups
  • Working proficiency with HRIS, case-tracking tools, and basic reporting
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; degree in HR, organizational psychology, or a related field preferred
  • SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, or workplace investigator training (such as AWI) preferred
  • Experience planning and delivering employee engagement or culture programs preferred
  • Experience in cannabis or another regulated or high-growth CPG environment a plus

  • Ability to work on a computer for at least eight (8) hours per day
  • Regular presence on production and warehouse floors; comfortable in office, warehouse, and occasional field environments, where temperatures may vary
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, including standing to facilitate training
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Clear communication skills, plus vision and hearing sufficient to perform job duties, with or without reasonable accommodation
