Senior Project Manager

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead projects, work directly with manufacturing clients, and contribute to the continued success of our Food & Beverage group. You'll take ownership of project delivery from the start while working closely with an experienced leader who will share industry knowledge, client relationships, and business perspective as you prepare to take on broader responsibilities over time.

What you’ll do

• Lead projects from planning through delivery, guiding multidisciplinary teams and managing scope, budget, schedule, quality, and resources.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for manufacturing clients through meetings, site visits, and ongoing project communication.
• Anticipate project challenges, coordinate technical solutions, and help clients make informed decisions about their facilities and operations.
• Partner with an experienced leader to understand client operations, capital investment priorities, approval processes, and long-term relationships.
• Listen to client needs and feedback, strengthen project delivery, and recognize where Mead & Hunt’s broader services can support their goals.

Location and travel

Our Champaign, Illinois office is the preferred location. Qualified candidates near other Mead & Hunt offices will also be considered, with frequent travel to Champaign expected.

For candidates based near Champaign, travel is expected to be approximately 25%.

What you’ll bring

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• At least five years of relevant experience, including responsibility for coordinating projects and working with clients or cross-functional teams.
• The technical understanding to discuss project requirements with clients and work effectively with specialists across disciplines.
• Experience managing competing priorities, navigating project challenges, and making sound decisions.
• Clear communication, strong relationship-building skills, and a collaborative approach.
• An interest in learning from an experienced leader while bringing your own expertise and perspective to the team.
• Experience working for a food and beverage company or within a manufacturing facility is preferred.

• Experience or familiarity with generative AI-driven tools, platforms, or systems (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and reduce errors.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work for long periods of time at a desk.

May need to traverse uneven terrain on foot. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions for

extended periods. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. May need to lift and/or move up to 30

pounds occasionally. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. May need to be able to climb

ladders and stairs. May need to be able to pass a background check. May need to be able to travel by air or

boat.

Salary range: $110,000 - $150,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
