Role summary
Meta is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer for its Infrastructure Supply Chain and Engineering team. This role focuses on operations and business enablement for Meta's infrastructure supply chain (servers, data centers, network). Responsibilities include optimizing operations, managing the purchase order lifecycle, and planning to balance capacity, flexibility, supply capability, and cost. The role involves building software and automation tooling, working cross-functionally with partners and engineering teams, and contributing to Meta's capacity plan. Key tasks include developing analytical models, performing simulations, and resolving critical escalations. The position requires a technical background with experience in supply chain management, operations research, and coding languages like Python.
Responsibilities
- Own infrastructure supply chain planning and operations for Meta (as part of Meta's overall capacity plan): including servers, network, and data center equipment from components through manufacturing to finished goods
- Design improvements to software systems to optimize supply chain operations efficiency and quality, partner with software engineers to implement and contribute code yourself
- Develop and analyze business and technical data and scenarios to solve complex supply chain problems and drive decision-making
- Build mathematical models to perform simulation and optimization studies of supply/demand projections, scenario planning, and gap closure analysis while balancing constraints, product mixes, and costs
- Contribute to end-to-end supply chain processes (as part of Meta's overall capacity plan), methodologies, and data to deliver an executable and optimized supply plan
- Manage and resolve critical escalations and exceptions in all areas of the supply chain
- Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, build analytical models, and make recommendations to drive change and optimization at the most strategic levels
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of experience in designing and implementing models, optimization algorithms, operations research, industrial engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in coding/scripting languages such as Python, R, Java, C, C++, PHP
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain management — order management, planning, manufacturing, operations, inventory, etc
- Experience working with distributed systems at scale
- Experience in infrastructure operations and technical infrastructure knowledge
- Experience with planning or optimization or modeling or performance analysis
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Experience managing ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience using business intelligence or data visualization platforms to build supply chain reporting and capacity coverage dashboards
- Experience with data center infrastructure supply chains, including server hardware, networking equipment, or storage systems procurement and deployment planning
- Familiarity with statistical forecasting methods or demand planning tools applied to infrastructure or hardware supply chains
- Track record of applying AI or automation tools to improve planning workflows, forecast accuracy, or supply chain visibility
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
$154,000/year to $217,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
