Role summary

Michels Underground Cable, Inc. is seeking a General Manager to oversee regional operations for data center and mission critical projects. This role is responsible for planning, safe and profitable operations, and project success. The General Manager will set strategic goals in coordination with the President, manage client relationships, and network within the industry. Key focus areas include medium voltage (MV) duct banks, substation feeds, underground transmission, and campus distribution systems. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of related experience, including experience with MV duct banks and project management software, and can travel 50% of the time.

Position Summary

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and oversight of regional operations while fostering an environment for safe and profitable operations. This position is responsible for project success and profitability within the region. General Managers set the strategic goals in coordination with the President and work with Regional and Project Managers to execute on them. It is essential to manage relationships with clients and network within the industry. This role will support data center and mission critical projects while focusing on medium voltage (MV) duct banks, substation feeds, underground transmission, and campus distribution systems.

    • What It Takes

  • 10+ years of related experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working on medium voltage (MV) duct banks, substation feeds, underground transmission, or campus distribution systems for data center
  • Experience with Project Management software (Primavera, HCSS, etc.)
  • Ability to travel 50% to project sites across the US
  • Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by Michels review team

    • Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Advanced licensing/certifications
