Role summary

Misfits Market is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of their fulfillment center. This role involves maintaining and repairing equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and minimizing downtime. Responsibilities include routine building maintenance, plumbing and electrical repairs, carpentry, operating tools, and performing preventative maintenance on forklifts and production lines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various tools, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. This is an onsite, full-time position with a pay rate of $24/hour, requiring physical capability and willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays. About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fulfillment center by maintaining and repairing equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and minimizing downtime to support daily production. This individual will work closely with the operations team and report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities:.

  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
  • Complete PM’s on Forklifts and production lines and equipment
  • Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Adhere to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment for everyone
  • Report to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress
  • General passion for creative problem-solving

    • Skills & Qualifications:

  • Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
  • Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
  • Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building's electricity
  • Hands-on experience operating varied manual and electric power tools
  • Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building
  • Groundskeeping if the facility contains lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or residents of the building in a pleasant manner
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
  • Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building
  • Successful completion of on-site apprenticeship training required
  • Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be well- organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.

    • Physical Requirements:

  • Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment (41 degrees and below)
  • Regular work with computers, including G Suite and Excel.
  • Regular use of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets
  • Ability to walk, bend, squat, climb, reach, and kneel.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 60 pounds.
