Role summary

Moore Home Services is seeking an Accounting Assistant to manage accounts payable, process vendor invoices, reconcile transactions, and maintain vendor records. This role supports month-end closing procedures and requires proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. This is an onsite, full-time position in Santa Rosa, CA, offering a competitive salary range of $25-$32 USD per hour.

Job Overview:

As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial transactions related to accounts payable. You will ensure that all invoices are processed accurately and on time, maintain vendor records, and support the month-end closing procedures. Your attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks will contribute to the smooth operation of our financial department. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams and vendors, resolving any issues promptly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and manage vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.

Maintain vendor records, including contact information and payment terms.

Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.

Assist with month-end closing procedures.

Collaborate with internal teams to accurate coding of invoices being paid.

Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues promptly.

Assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or similar field preferred.

2+ years of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or general accounting experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Highly proficient with accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).

Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
