Role summary

Neros, a defense technology company, is seeking a Quality Inspector for Electro-Mechanical Assembly. This hands-on role involves inspecting parts, sub-assemblies, and finished drones to ensure they meet drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards. Responsibilities include verifying dimensions, assembly quality, supplier documentation, executing inspection plans, documenting nonconformances, and identifying systemic issues. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of manufacturing inspection experience, can read engineering drawings with GD&T, and is proficient with precision measurement tools.

Who we are

Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.

As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.

What you will be doing

Our mission is to build a million drones a year here in America, and every one depends on how well its mechanical and electrical hardware comes together. As a Quality Inspector, you’ll inspect parts, sub-assemblies, and finished vehicles across the factory, from incoming inspection (IQC) through final assembly. You’ll catch workmanship and assembly defects before they move down the line, so that every unit survives and performs in contested environments.

This is a hands-on role for someone with a sharp eye and high standards. You inspect hardware to drawings and workmanship standards, document what you find, and make sure nothing questionable gets past you. When a defect shows up, you’re the one who catches it, quarantines it, and gets it in front of the right people.

If you’ve spent time inspecting hardware on a production floor and want to own quality from incoming parts to the finished drone, this is your role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, first article, in-process, and final inspection of mechanical parts, electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, and finished vehicles across the factory to drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards
  • Verify dimensions and assembly workmanship, including GD&T, fastener torque, connector mating, and harness routing, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and torque tools
  • Verify supplier documentation, including certificates of conformance, inspection reports, and traceability
  • Independently execute inspection plans, sampling plans, and work instructions, and record results clearly, accurately, and completely in production systems
  • Identify and document nonconformances, contain suspect hardware, and verify all required actions from the MRB disposition are complete before releasing hardware back to production
  • Act as the eyes and ears on the floor, flagging recurring defects and systemic issues to engineering, production, and supply chain
  • You should have the following

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 2+ years of hands-on mechanical or electro-mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing production environment
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, including GD&T, as well as BOMs and work instructions
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection methods
  • Experience documenting nonconformances in an NCR, MES, or ERP system
  • Nice to have

  • Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification
  • Experience with CMM or automated vision inspection
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management system, ideally in aerospace or defense manufacturing
  • US Salary Range

    $29.00 - $38.00/hr USD
