Role summary
Neros, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer II, Power & Propulsion to lead the design and development of power and propulsion hardware for their next-generation drones. This role involves architecting power systems, leading ESC development, building and managing a team focused on battery packs and charging platforms, and establishing design standards. The engineer will remain hands-on in schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, and flight testing, while also hiring and mentoring electrical engineers. The position requires 8+ years of electrical hardware engineering experience, including power conversion hardware ownership from concept to production, and experience leading engineers. A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
Who we are
Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.
As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.
What you will be doing
As a Senior Electrical Engineer II, Power & Propulsion at Neros, you will own the power and propulsion hardware for our next generation of autonomous and interceptor drones, including electronic speed controllers (ESCs), power conversion, and distribution. You will set the power architecture and design standards for new products across multiple product lines, and stay hands-on from schematic and PCB layout through bring-up, flight test, and production. You will also help build and lead the team that delivers them.
