About The Role
Waymo is seeking a talented and experienced Full Stack Developer to join the Fleet Management team, focusing on workshop management and vehicle maintenance software. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, UX, legal, and operations—to create innovative solutions that address complex challenges in a fast-paced environment. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of Waymo’s autonomous fleet, supporting the company's mission to deliver safe and accessible autonomous transportation services. This role provides a unique chance to work on mission-critical systems, contribute to large-scale infrastructure development, and be part of a pioneering team shaping the future of mobility.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, with at least four years of full-stack development expertise. A strong understanding of web development fundamentals—including HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript—is essential. Experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue is required, along with an interest in backend development. Familiarity with third-party integrations and public APIs is also important. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and collaborate effectively across teams. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, especially Google Cloud Platform or similar, as well as backend languages like Java, Python, Go, or C++, will be advantageous. Experience in scalability, automotive industry knowledge, and familiarity with Google’s infrastructure tools are preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and optimize Angular applications using Typescript and modern development techniques to create reliable, scalable tools for fleet management.
  • Build and enhance mission-critical systems that enable Waymo to scale operations and expand into new markets.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and engineering teams to develop user-facing applications that meet operational needs.
  • Implement solutions to address emerging challenges in a dynamic environment, ensuring system robustness and efficiency.
  • Work across team boundaries to foster a collaborative environment and ensure seamless integration of new features and systems.
  • Engage with non-engineering teams such as legal, operations, and product management to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Take ownership of projects from conception through deployment, driving efforts to successful completion and continuous improvement.
