Role summary

North Point Technology is seeking a mid-level SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to support the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) in Washington, DC. This full-time, remote role involves administering SQL Server, SQL Clusters, and standalone SQL databases, executing maintenance tasks like patching and restores, and troubleshooting database and application issues. The DBA will also manage ServiceNow tickets, monitor systems using Idera and SolarWinds, and contribute to reporting. The position requires 4+ years of SQL Server DBA experience, with exposure to various other database systems. Preferred qualifications include certifications and federal support experience.

SQL Server Database Administrator (Mid-Level)

Location: Remote (U.S.). Supports the U.S. Government Publishing Office, Washington, DCType: Full-time, contingent on contract award. Anticipated start November 16, 2026Hours: 8 hours/day within 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM ET. Periodic scheduled after-hours work for patching and reboots

North Point Technology is hiring a mid-level SQL Server DBA to support GPO's SQL Server and SQL Cluster environment alongside a senior SQL DBA.

What you'll do:

Administer SQL Server, SQL Clusters, and standalone SQL databases

Execute patching, installs, and routine maintenance

Implement and test failovers, backups, and restores

Support MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS Access databases

Troubleshoot database and application issues, including SharePoint

Work ServiceNow tickets and RFCs within SLAs

Monitor systems with Idera and SolarWinds and build dashboards

Contribute to weekly activity reports

What you need:

4+ years of database administration experience, primarily SQL Server

Experience with SQL Clustering, T-SQL, and SQL scripting

Exposure to Oracle, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB

Experience creating and managing standalone SQL databases

Ability to work independently and communicate clearly

Preferred:

Microsoft SQL Server or Azure data certification

Federal support experience
