Role summary
Octane is a financial technology company providing lending solutions for merchants and consumers. They are seeking an Underwriter to manage the loan application process from sales handoff to closing. The role involves reviewing applicant information, verifying financial records, assessing risk against lending standards, and identifying potential fraud. The Underwriter will also build relationships with dealer partners, explain loan programs and decisioning models, and provide platform support. Communication with consumers regarding their applications is also a key responsibility. The position requires a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in loan underwriting or processing, combined with sales or customer service experience, preferably in the auto or powersports industry. A strong understanding of financial ratios and income documentation is essential. The role operates on a hybrid work model with a 10 AM - 7 PM CST shift and rotating Saturdays.

We are searching for an Underwriter who can take the handoff from our sales team to work directly with dealers across all engagement levels and verticals, providing them assistance in understanding our underwriting guidelines while guiding them through navigating our dealer contracting platform. You will work closely with our sales team to help foster already established relationships while providing exceptional customer service. We're specifically seeking candidates who can work a 10 AM - 7 PM CST shift with rotating Saturdays.
