Role summary

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to oversee the installation of Air Source Heat Pumps in France, focusing on the Amiens region. This field-based role involves ensuring the quality and proper functioning of installations by local partners, providing technical support, and resolving on-site issues. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in installing and maintaining air source heat pump systems, knowledge of heating system design, fault-finding capabilities, and experience reviewing technical specifications and mechanical drawings. Familiarity with RGE & Qualibat certifications and French electrical habilitation (BR NF C18-510) is required. Technical English proficiency is also necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience with Excel and the electrical aspects of heat pumps.

We're recruiting our first Lead Mechanical Engineer to supervise the installations of our Air Source Heat Pumps. We're looking for passionate people who have experience installing heating systems and are willing to help us grow this activity in France


This is a field based role covering the Amiens area, but you’ll also be expected to work from home or from our Lille office when required.

What you'll do

  • You’ll help us set up the technical arm of our heat pump department in France
  • You’ll ensure the quality and proper functioning of the installations carried out by our local partners
  • You’ll be out in the field visiting construction sites to ensure they are running smoothly
  • You’ll be able to provide technical support to resolve any issues identified on site directly
  • You’ll have a “troubleshooter” mindset to find solutions to challenges and resolve them 
  • You’ll use your knowledge and experience of heat pump installations to ensure a seemless and outstanding experience
  • You’ll share low carbon advice with our customers
  • You’ll review and collaborate on technical specifications and mechanical drawings

    • What you'll need

  • 3+ years of experience installing and maintaining air source heat pump systems 
  • Happy to travel around the Amiens region 
  • You’ll be an experienced plumbing and heating engineer with knowledge of heating system design and the ability to fault find
  • You’ll have experience of reviewing and challenging technical specifications & mechanical drawings 


    • Qualifications

  • Clean French Driving licence
  • CAP/BEP, or VAE level
  • You previously worked within companies with RGE & Qualibat certifications (or owned them if you were self-employed)
  • Technical English proficiency (B1) 
  • BR NF C18-510 electrical habilitation 
    • It would be great if you had some of the below too:
  • Happy using computers, including Excel
  • Some experience with the electrical side of heat pumps 
  • BR electrical qualification
