Responsibilities include resolving issues like rejections and shortages, ensuring compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations, and maintaining accurate customer and order records in the ERP system. About Us

OMI Specialty Products is a leading aerospace supplier with a proud history dating back to 1968. We provide aerospace parts, hardware, chemicals, and raw materials to OEMs, MROs, airlines, and their suppliers in both civil and defense applications, serving customers around the world. Our commitment to excellence, responsiveness, and integrity has made us a trusted partner across the industry.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Account Manager to join our inside sales team. You will own a book of customer accounts — turning RFQs into competitive quotes, sourcing parts from suppliers, and making sure every order ships complete and on time. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role for someone who likes solving problems, works well with a team, and wants to grow a career in aerospace sales.

What You’ll Do

  • Quote fast and accurately: Respond to customer RFQs with competitive, accurate quotes in our ERP system, typically within the same business day.
  • Source parts: Find pricing and availability using our sales history, ILS, and our supplier network; negotiate price and lead time with vendors.
  • Manage your accounts: Build relationships with buyers at your assigned customers, follow up on open quotes, and grow your accounts by cross-selling OMI’s parts, hardware, chemicals, and raw materials.
  • Own the order: Work with procurement, expediting, quality, and shipping to keep orders on track; resolve issues such as rejections, shortages, lead-time changes, and returns.
  • Get the paperwork right: Ensure orders meet customer and aerospace quality requirements, including traceability, certifications, and documentation.
  • Stay compliant: Follow OMI’s export-compliance procedures (ITAR/EAR), including customer and end-use screening.
  • Keep data clean: Maintain accurate customer, quote, and order records in the ERP.
  • Step up: Support the team and lead day-to-day activity in the sales manager’s absence.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales, account management, or customer service experience in the aerospace distribution industry, or a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field with a strong interest in aerospace sales.
  • Experience in aerospace distribution, OEMs, MRO, and/or brokering is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with ILS, PartsBase, Aeroxchange or Quantum Control is a plus.
  • Comfortable with margins, markups, and percentages; strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; professional and responsive with customers and vendors.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage many open quotes and orders at once.
  • A team player who works well across sales, purchasing, quality, and shipping.
  • Additional languages are a plus.
