Role summary

OneFourTwo Design Group is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer for their White Plains, NY office. This role involves managing structural building design projects, client communication, preparing designs for steel, concrete, masonry, and foundations, and ensuring code compliance. The engineer will produce structural calculations and construction-ready drawings, coordinated with all disciplines. Responsibilities also include construction administration tasks like reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs. The ideal candidate has a BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering, 5+ years of experience in structural building design (commercial experience preferred), proficiency in Revit, and knowledge of structural analysis programs. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required or obtainable within 6 months.

We are looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineer who is passionate about the construction process to lead structural building design out of our White Plains, NY office. A Day in the Life:

  • Manage projects and communicate with clients, technical drafting staff, and others outside the project team
  • Prepare preliminary designs for clients
  • Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design
  • Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
  • Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents as well as construction
  • Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy
  • Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams

    • Necessary Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 5+ years of structural engineering building design experience (commercial experience is ideal)
  • Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design
  • Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings is required
  • Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages preferred
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain within 6 months

    • Typical base compensation for the Lead Structural Engineer role is between $90,000.00 - $115,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to the base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based onindividual and company performance.
