Otterbein Tipp City is seeking skilled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide resident care. The role involves assessing residents, administering medications and treatments, participating in care planning, supervising LPNs and CNAs, communicating with physicians, documenting care, and educating residents and families. The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a valid LPN/LVN license and current CPR certification. The LPN directs resident care; collaborates with physicians, residents and multi-disciplinary team members; provides physical and psychological support to residents, families and team members.

Shift: Full-time Days & Part-time Night Shift, PRN

Responsibilities

  • Assesses residents by physical examination, including pertinent diagnostic testing to determine health status.
  • Administers medications and treatments.
  • Participates in care planning process.
  • Supervises LPNs and certified nursing assistants.
  • Communicates with physicians regarding changes in resident’s conditions, diagnostic test results, etc.
  • Documents assessments and care in compliance with standards of care and company policy.
  • Educates residents and their families on health-related issues.
  • Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and State and/or Federal regulations.
  • Communicating a sense of caring, concern, and dignity for elders
  • Recognizing the autonomy and dignity of all elders
  • Understanding how to place decision-making in the hands of the elders
  • Focusing on providing high-quality service and care

    • Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid state licensure as an LPN/LVN.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • CEU’s as required by the State.
