Role summary

The Director of Assisted Living - LPN is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Assisted Living and Wellness Services, ensuring quality care and quality of life for residents. This role involves staff supervision, planning and managing staffing levels, participating in recruitment and retention, and ensuring resident needs (medical, psychosocial, emotional, spiritual) are met through effective care planning. The Director also ensures regulatory compliance, provides wellness services, maintains a safe environment, and coaches staff. A graduate of an approved nursing program (RN or LPN) is required, along with strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Experience in a continuing care community is preferred.

OVERVIEW

The Director of Assisted Living - LPN is responsible for creating an atmosphere that provides for continuity of quality care and quality of life for all residents in the Assisted Living and Wellness. This is accomplished by providing clear direction and expectations to all partners about the philosophy of the area in which they work.

Responsibilities:

Oversees daily operations of the Assisted Living and Wellness Services including supervision of staff.

Plans, evaluates, and takes responsibility for providing consistent and sufficient staffing to meet resident needs in the living areas.

Participates in recruitment and retention of partners.

Assists partners in utilizing appropriate techniques for effective assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of residents and their needs.

Set productivity expectations and hold partners accountable for meeting them.

Provide wellness services as indicated.

Ensures that the medical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of residents are addressed, followed up in the Plan of Care in an appropriate and supportive manner.

Ensures the area and its equipment and supplies are neat, clean, safe and utilized appropriately at all times.

Ensures compliance with regulations.

Ensures adequate orientation provided to all partners in the area.

Participates with the interdisciplinary team by listening to concerns and suggestions and by providing follow-up and feedback in a timely manner.

Coaches and teaches partners how to communicate their needs as well as resident needs.

Ensures exceptional customer service provided.

Utilizes risk management principles to ensure health and safety of residents.

Serve as on-call nurse in rotation with the Director of Nursing

Other assignments maybe assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of approved nursing program (RN or LPN)

Licensure/Certification: cce

Experience: Successful candidate will show strong organizational skills and system development, demonstrate effective communication, provide exceptional customer service and a commitment to quality care. The candidate will also need to demonstrate alignment with Otterbein Sunset Village's mission and values. Previous experience in a continuing care community preferred.
