Role summary

PathAI is seeking a Software Engineer II, Fullstack to join their AI-powered pathology platform team in Boston, MA. This hybrid role involves building and refactoring features for internal and external users, driving application platform architecture, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The engineer will uphold high standards for code quality, testing, and integration, contributing to a SaaS platform used in clinical trial workflows. The role requires experience with Python, Vue.js, Django, Docker, and various AWS services, with a focus on AI and machine learning applications in healthcare. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.

We're looking for skilled and experienced engineers to join our team and help lay the groundwork for our growing software platform. We believe in using the best tool for the job. At PathAI, we are constantly evaluating our tech stack and our current tools consist of:

The Opportunity:

Solve interesting problems with code.

Build new features for internal and external users, and refactor existing ones to make them better.

Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to solve problems in sustainable ways. Sometimes you'll be neck-deep in low-level systems, and other times you'll be pairing up with the front-end team on the user interface.

Drive the architecture of our application platform, considering the team and our future product roadmap.

Collaborate with product, design, machine learning, and infrastructure teams.

Drive and uphold high engineering standards, bringing consistency to the codebases you encounter and ensuring software is adequately reviewed, tested, and integrated.

Mentor, learn, and share knowledge with others along the way.

Take responsibility for the quality of the code produced by you and the team.

Contribute to a SaaS platform used in clinical trial workflows, ensuring reliability, data integrity, and compliance with industry standards.

Collaborate with clinical, QA, and regulatory teams to ensure software changes meet validation expectations and support inspection readiness.

Who You Are:(Required)

You have a Bachelor of Science or an advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

You have some experience working across the full software development lifecycle using Python..

You are proactive and have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly in a complex space.

You have experience and skills in designing and building python-based (FastAPI or Django) applications.

You have a demonstrated foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO design.

You have the ability to collaborate with a distributed team and to work autonomously on projects.

Preferred:

You have a BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or closely related technical field.

You have 2-4 years of full life cycle development experience.

You have demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.

You have Cloud Platform experience (AWS); knowledge of some IaC framework

You have hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI.

You have knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

This is a hybrid position based in Boston, MA. Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location Boston, MA is $108,750 - $166,750. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
