Role summary
Pencil is seeking a Gen AI Creative Technologist to bridge advertising craft with Generative AI speed. This role involves building and operating agentic and nodal creative workflows, connecting various creative elements into scalable systems to accelerate campaign production for clients. You will work under Art and Creative Directors, leveraging deep hands-on fluency in GenAI tools and techniques to implement creative briefs. The focus is on the systems side of technology, including building, scaling, and governing agents, workflows, and creative infrastructure. Responsibilities include designing and building production-grade systems, owning workflow governance, leading training, and evaluating emerging AI technologies. The role requires 2-3 years of experience in advertising creative development and proficiency with GenAI tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, and Gemini, as well as Adobe Creative Cloud. This is a remote-first position.
About us At Pencil, we are building the AI Operating System for marketing - the only enterprise platform that aggregates every leading AI model, enforces enterprise-grade governance, and turns creative production savings into media growth. Our work moves brands like Diageo, L’Oréal and Unilever from creative brief to live, on-brand, performance-tested campaigns in minutes - across every market, channel and language - without sacrificing legal, IT or brand control.
Your mission
Bring the craft of advertising together with the speed of GenAI. You build and operate agentic and nodal creative workflows - connecting insight, concept, copy, imagery and video into scalable systems - so our creative teams and clients can move from idea to finished advertising faster, without losing quality or strategic grounding.
You work day-to-day under the direction of Art Directors and Creative Directors, bringing deep hands-on fluency in GenAI tools and workflows to their briefs. You're not setting creative vision - you're the person in the room who knows how to make the technology deliver on it.
This track is for people who go deep on the systems side - building, scaling, and governing the agents, workflows, and creative infrastructure that creative teams and clients rely on. Creative sensibility still matters (they need to understand what "good creative output" means to build for it), but the growth path is technical leadership and architecture, not creative direction.
