Senior UX Designer

Petrichor Labs Remote | Canada

Petrichor Labs is a privacy-first engineering and consulting firm building secure, sovereignty-ready digital infrastructure. We work with startups, scaleups, and enterprise teams to design technology that meets modern expectations around privacy, identity, and data protection.

We are looking for a Senior UX Designer who can translate complex technical systems into intuitive, human-centered digital experiences. You will work closely with product teams, engineers, and leadership to design platforms where privacy, usability, and security coexist seamlessly.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing products that handle
identity, authentication, data governance, and secure systems
, and who believes strong UX can make complex technology accessible.

Responsibilities

Design user experiences for privacy-first digital products including identity systems, secure authentication flows, and data management platforms.

Translate complex technical concepts such as privacy architecture, compliance frameworks, and identity systems into intuitive user journeys.

Lead UX strategy across web applications, dashboards, and developer tools.

Create wireframes, prototypes, interaction flows, and high-fidelity designs.

Collaborate closely with engineers, product leaders, and security architects to ensure designs are technically feasible and scalable.

Conduct user research, usability testing, and iterative design improvements.

Establish design standards and contribute to a consistent design system across Petrichor Labs products.

Ensure accessibility, usability, and clarity in high-complexity environments.

Support product launches by contributing to UX documentation and design rationale.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in UX or product design.

Experience designing
complex digital platforms, SaaS products, or developer-focused tools
.

Strong portfolio demonstrating UX thinking, user journeys, and system design.

Experience working with
design systems and scalable product interfaces
.

Ability to simplify technical workflows and communicate ideas clearly across teams.

Strong proficiency with modern design tools such as
Figma, Adobe XD, or similar platforms
.

Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams.

Comfort working in fast-moving startup or innovation environments.

Nice to Have

Experience designing
identity, authentication, or security-related platforms
.

Exposure to privacy-by-design or regulatory environments (GDPR, SOC2, etc.).

Experience designing for
developer platforms or technical users
.

Interest in privacy, digital sovereignty, and ethical technology design.
