PINE Advisor Solutions is seeking an Associate Director for their Principal Financial Officer (PFO) Services team. This role involves managing client relationships and deliverables for registered fund products, including mutual funds, ETFs, and closed-end funds. The Associate Director will serve as the primary reviewer of fund administration and accounting deliverables, ensuring quality and compliance. Responsibilities include acting as the day-to-day client contact, overseeing regulatory filings, expense administration, and coordinating audits. The position requires 5+ years of financial services experience, preferably in fund accounting, administration, or audit, with a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Strong Excel skills, communication, and organizational abilities are essential. This is a hybrid role based in Denver, with potential for remote work for experienced US-based candidates.

Position Overview

PINE Advisor Solutions, A Centralis Company, is seeking an Associate Director to join our Principal Financial Officer (PFO) Services team. This individual will support the Directors in managing a portfolio of client relationships and deliverables across registered fund products, including mutual funds, ETFs, interval funds, tender offer funds, and closed-end funds.

In this role, you will serve as the primary reviewer of deliverables prepared by the fund administration and fund accounting teams on behalf of our clients, ensuring high-quality execution and regulatory compliance. You will manage a book of multiple clients as their day-to-day point of contact, gaining hands-on exposure to the responsibilities and dynamics of acting as an outsourced financial officer and treasury team.

This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to step into a client-facing leadership role with visibility across critical fund operations. Over time, there is potential for growth into a director-level position, including the possibility of taking on outsourced Treasurer responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for multiple fund clients, managing deliverables and deadlines across your client book
  • Serve as primary reviewer of fund administrator and fund accountant deliverables, escalating issues to Directors as needed
  • Perform detailed and analytical reviews of fund regulatory filings including Forms N-CSR, N-PORT, N-CEN, 24F-2, 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, repurchase offers and annual prospectus updates
  • Oversee fund expense administration activities
  • Review fund income and capital gain distributions
  • Review and maintain valuation schedules of private investments
  • Prepare and coordinate materials relating to fund board meetings, valuation committee meetings, and disclosure control meetings relating to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
  • Coordinate the external audit and tax process on behalf of clients, serve as main audit contact
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and business partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Train and mentor Associates, reviewing their work and providing day-to-day feedback
  • Draft and maintain process procedures for recurring deliverables, and keep client workflows, deadlines, and task status current in our internal systems and tools
  • Maintain knowledge of changing industry regulations

    • Qualifications:

  • 5+of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong preference for fund accounting, fund administration, or audit of registered fund products
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or a related field required;
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory and compliance reporting for registered funds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in financial and compliance documentation
  • Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, high-growth environment
  • Eagerness to learn and apply regulatory changes and industry best practices
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to client service and team success

    • Work Model (Hybrid Preferred)

  • Candidates who can work out of our Denver office 2-3 days per week are preferred
  • We are open to hiring remote employees located anywhere in the US with direct experience
  • Some periodic travel to Denver will be expected for remote hires

    • Salary: $80,000 - $110,000

    Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus compensation.
