Senior Server-Side Java Engineer (Event-Driven Systems)

We are hiring
high-impact Backend Java Engineers
to join a mission-critical team supporting large-scale public safety alerting systems used by municipalities, higher education institutions, and federal environments.

🔹 What You’ll Be Doing

- Develop and enhance
server-side Java applications
powering high-volume alerting platforms
- Design and implement
event-driven architectures
(transitioning from legacy polling systems)
- Contribute to cloud modernization and migration initiatives
- Improve system scalability and performance (billions of notifications annually)
- Reduce technical debt across legacy platforms
- Work within secure and sovereign cloud environments (FedRAMP-style infrastructure)

🔹 Required Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with
Java (Java 11/17 preferred)
- Spring / Spring Boot / RESTful APIs
- Event-driven systems (Kafka, JMS, message brokers, pub/sub)
- AWS and/or Azure
- Docker & Kubernetes
- MySQL and/or Redis
- CI/CD tools (Git, Bitbucket, Gradle)

🔹 Highly Valued Experience

• Messaging platforms (SMS, email, voice, push notifications)
• High-volume distributed systems
• Public safety / emergency alerting environments
• Telephony or investigation workflows
• Geospatial tools (Esri, GeoServer)
• Experience working in secure environments (clearance eligible, background check capable)
