Role summary
Prime Intellect is seeking a Product Lead to guide their product team within Engineering, focusing on transforming their AI infrastructure platform into a usable product for developers and researchers. The role involves setting product direction, shaping the customer experience across the platform (environments, training, deployment), and working closely with customers and internal researchers to identify needs and develop features. The Product Lead will stay hands-on with prototypes and specs, collaborate with engineers, and measure product success to inform the roadmap. Experience in AI infrastructure, ML platforms, or developer tools is required, along with technical depth for system tradeoffs and API work. Design engineering experience is a plus. The role is based in San Francisco, with remote options available.
Own Your Intelligence
Prime Intellect is building the open superintelligence stack: the infrastructure frontier AI labs build internally, made available to every ambitious AI team.
Our platform, Lab, unifies compute, environments, evaluations, secure sandboxes, high-performance training, and deployment into one full-stack system for post-training at frontier scale - from SFT and RL to tool use, agent workflows, and continuously improving production models. We are building open frontier AI: open-source models trained end to end for long-horizon tasks like autonomous research, and the full-stack platform our own research team uses to build them. The next generation of AI companies, enterprises, and research teams do not just need more GPUs. They need the ability to turn their own workflows, tools, data, and feedback loops into superintelligence they own.
Prime Intellect has raised $150M in total funding from Founders Fund, Radical Ventures, NVIDIA, and exceptional AI, infrastructure, and enterprise operators, including Andrej Karpathy, Dwarkesh Patel, and leaders and founders from Ramp, Perplexity, Harvey, Mercor, Zapier, Datadog, Cognition, OpenAI, Thinking Machines, Together AI, SemiAnalysis, LangChain, Browserbase, Cloudflare, Sierra, Databricks, Airbnb, OpenRouter, Standard Intelligence, Fleet, Core Auto, and more. We are looking for people who want to build at the intersection of frontier research, real infrastructure, and go-to-market for a category that does not fully exist yet.
Role Impact
We're looking for a Head of Product to bring clear direction and consistent execution to our product team. You'll help turn the infrastructure behind frontier AI into a product that developers and researchers can use to build, evaluate, and improve their own models. You'll lead the team's product work, stay close to design and implementation, and work with our founders and technical leads to choose what matters most. You'll work with Research, Applied Research, and production customers to make this a repeatable loop for continual learning.
Responsibilities
Set a focused product direction with the founders and technical leads. Turn customer needs and new technical capabilities into clear choices about what we build next.
Shape the connected customer experience across our whole platform: environments, evaluations, training, deployment, and traces. Partner with the teams building Model Factory, Data Factory, inference, and sandboxes to make those workflows work together.
Turn the workflows used by Research and Applied Research into product features, testing them with production customers.
Connect Data Factory with Model Factory's training and inference workflows. Use production traces to guide the next round of model improvement.
Lead product and design from early concepts through launch. Be obsessed with our users’ experience.
Requirements
You've built and grown a technical product that (a lot of) people use in production.
You’ve led teams while balancing remaining hands-on, and understand when to direct execution vs. getting involved yourself.
You have the technical depth to prototype, work with APIs, and reason through system tradeoffs with engineers. Experience in developer tools, AI infrastructure, or ML platforms is required.
You care about how a product feels in use and strive to make each experience more simple or useful.
Design engineering experience is a big plus: you combine bold product vision with exceptional taste and a track record of shipping polished experiences.
You learn directly from customers, write clearly, and can turn an ambiguous problem into a concrete next step.
You're obsessed with building open superintelligence and putting the tools and know-how to create it in the hands of ambitious people everywhere.
Particularly useful domain experience: Ownership of agent observability, data curation, training, inference, multi-agent, RL, continual learning, and/or evaluations systems.
Benefits and Perks
$200,000–$300,000 base salary plus meaningful equity
Visa sponsorship and relocation support
Full medical, dental, and vision (covered for employees and dependents).
Flexible PTO.
$200/month health & wellness benefit.
Show us a product you're proud of, what you personally built or led, and how it changed after real people started using it.
