Position Summary

PRISMECS is seeking an experienced Control Room Supervisor to provide supervisory, advisory, and technical oversight for a fleet of GE TM2500+ Gen8 aeroderivative gas turbines at a large power generation site.

The Control Room Operator monitors unit operation from the control room, and supervises and reports on the O&M work carried out by the site’s O&M contractor.

This is a supervisory and technical oversight role, not a hands-on operations role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor all units in real time from the control room HMI: load, temperatures, pressures, vibration, alarms and events.
  • Record shift data and send hourly and daily status updates (load, running hours, alarms, unit status).
  • Identify abnormal trends and alarms early and report them straight away to the Site Lead and Project Manager.
  • Record all trips, starts, stops and breaker events with accurate timestamps and alarm/event sequences.
  • Supervise and verify maintenance work carried out by the O&M contractor, and check it against OEM requirements (GEK manuals, C&E matrix).
  • Complete daily and weekly inspection checklists according to the OEM maintenance schedule.
  • Support data collection for trip reports, root cause analyses and weekly/monthly supervisory reports.
  • Carry out a clear shift handover, with the handover report completed every shift.
  • Follow all site HSE rules, PPE requirements and LOTO procedures, and report any safety concerns.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of control room operations experience on gas turbines, preferably GE aeroderivative units (TM2500, LM2500 or LM6000).
  • Working knowledge of GE control systems and HMI (Mark VIe or RX3i, CIMPLICITY).
  • Good understanding of gas turbine systems: fuel gas, lube oil, water injection, generator and excitation, and auxiliaries.
  • Able to read alarm logs and trends and P&IDs, and to understand cause-and-effect logic.
  • Strong reporting and communication skills in English, written and verbal.
  • Comfortable with 12-hour rotating day and night shifts.
  • Must currently reside in the United States.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Fluent English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TM2500 or LM2500 OEM training, or experience at commissioning or start-up sites.
  • Experience in a supervisory or oversight role over an O&M contractor.
  • Strong troubleshooting, reporting, and technical-observation skills.
  • OSHA 10 or 30, or similar safety certification.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, detail-oriented, accountable, and able to remain composed during alarms or abnormal operational events. The individual must communicate effectively, work well within a multicultural team, and promptly escalate technical issues.

Scope clarification: This position is supervisory and advisory only. It does not include preventive or corrective maintenance, repairs, wrenching, parts replacement, special-tool operation, or other hands-on maintenance activities.
