Role summary

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a per diem LPN for their New River Valley Inpatient facility in Radford, VA. This role focuses on providing direct nursing care, medication administration, assessment, and withdrawal management for individuals with substance use disorders and behavioral health concerns. The position offers a unique inpatient experience with minimal physical demands, no ADLs, and no IVs/ports/catheters. Responsibilities include completing nursing assessments, administering medications, monitoring client response, providing education, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. A current Virginia LPN license is required. Experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment is a plus. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

As an LPN, you will:

Provide direct nursing care and clinical support in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and organizational policies.

Complete nursing assessments, screenings, observations, admissions, and clinical documentation.

Administer medications and monitor effectiveness, client response, and potential side effects.

Monitor and support withdrawal management, including CIWA, COWS, and other clinical assessment tools as appropriate.

Provide medication and health education to clients and families.

Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical providers with assessments, medication management, and treatment planning.

Monitor changes in client condition and communicate significant clinical findings to the treatment team.

Maintain medications, medical equipment, and clinical supplies according to regulatory and organizational standards.

Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote continuity of care and successful treatment outcomes.

Maintain confidentiality and complete required training and documentation.

What We're Looking For

Current, active LPN license in Virginia

Compassionate, dependable, and clinically minded nursing professional

Interest or experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, withdrawal management, or addiction recovery is a plus.

New graduates and nurses transitioning into behavioral health are encouraged to explore this opportunity.
