Role summary

Pyramid Healthcare at East Stroudsburg seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for PRN positions to provide direct nursing services to adults with Substance Use Disorders and/or mental health conditions. Responsibilities include administering medications, completing labs, monitoring vitals, following detox protocols, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other disciplines. The role requires a current PA RN or LPN license and BLS certification, with strong communication and organizational skills. This position offers flexible scheduling with a pay rate of $35-$40/hr, requiring at least 4 shifts per month.

Summary:

Pyramid Healthcare at East Stroudsburg is dedicated to providing comprehensive and robust treatment options to adults experiencing Substance Use Disorders. Guided by a passionate leadership team and committed support staff, we help our clients regain their freedom. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering treatment at Pyramid Healthcare, primarily by providing direct nursing services to clients in adult substance-use disorder and/or mental health treatment.

Shift: 7:00am - 7:00pm OR 7:00pm - 7:00am - prn as needed at least 4 shifts per month

Pay: $35 - $40/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with other disciplines to ensure client needs are met and participate in chart monitoring and action planning.
  • Work a rotating weekend schedule with the ability to work every other weekend.
  • Review and follow detox protocols.
  • Assist staff during high-volume shifts by prioritizing, organizing, and completing unit scheduling.
  • Orient new nurses as needed.
  • Maintain medical equipment and conduct medical lectures for clients as needed.
  • Administer medications and complete Medication Administration Records (MAR).
  • Complete necessary labs for treatment, including HCG, urine, BAC, and glucometer tests.
  • Administer IM and SQ medications and Narcan as necessary.
  • Ensure labs are addressed and reviewed, and manage physician orders.
  • Follow proper consent procedures.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement Projects.
  • Maintain staff development needs and keep records up to date.
  • Complete nursing competency and evaluation processes.
  • Adhere to Evidence Based Practice guidelines.
  • Engage in continued nursing training and monthly meetings for professional development.
  • Conduct nursing assessments, develop treatment plans, administer medication, monitor vitals, follow detox and other medical protocols, and assist medical providers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Required Skills:

  • Current Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in Pennsylvania.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
