Fresh off our $14M Series A (backed by the leading construction-tech investors), we’re entering our next phase of growth — and engineering will be at the center of everything we build next.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Founding Full-Stack Engineer to design, build, and scale the core systems that power Rebar. This is a role for someone who loves 0 1 product work, thrives in fast cycles, and is excited to bring modern engineering practices to an industry that has never had them.

As a founding engineer, you will shape our architecture, systems, and execution from the ground up. You’ll bring clarity to ambiguous spaces, move quickly without sacrificing quality, and work directly with our CPO, product, design, and go-to-market teams. As we grow, there will be meaningful opportunities to take on broader technical leadership, including driving architecture and mentoring future engineers.

What You’ll Do

End-to-End Development
Design and implement modern, responsive web applications — owning everything from front-end user experience to back-end services, APIs, and data flows.

Architect Systems from Scratch
Help define the technical vision and build the infrastructure that will support multiple product lines as we scale from early traction to industry dominance.

AI/ML Integration
Collaborate with AI engineers to implement and maintain production-ready AI workflows, enabling faster quoting, smarter recommendations, and more automated operations for customers.

Build in the Cloud
Deploy and scale applications on AWS or GCP, optimizing performance, reliability, and cost. Set up monitoring, alerting, and best-in-class infrastructure as we grow.

Full DevOps Ownership
Establish our CI/CD pipelines, containerization workflows (Docker), and version control best practices — ensuring the team ships with speed and confidence.

Move from Idea Production Quickly
Partner with product, design, and GTM to turn loose ideas into crisp requirements, prototypes, and shipped features that customers feel immediately.

Raise the Bar on Engineering Culture

Set the tone for quality, velocity, collaboration, and ownership across the team.

Who You Are

• 1.5+ years of full-stack development experience, ideally in fast-moving environments or early-stage startups.
• Strong with TypeScript and Next.js/React, with an eye for clean, usable UI.
• Solid back-end experience in Python or Node.js, and comfortable debugging across the stack.
• Hands-on experience deploying and scaling production apps on AWS or GCP (load balancing, autoscaling, cost optimization).
• Familiar with RESTful APIs and relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Understanding of CI/CD, Docker, version control, and modern DevOps workflows.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous, high-velocity 0 1 environments.
• A clear communicator who exposes your thinking and collaborates smoothly across engineering, product, and design.
• Someone who takes real ownership — proactive, resourceful, and confident making decisions with imperfect information.

Nice to Have

• Experience building or scaling SaaS platforms
• Exposure to AI products or ML pipelines
• Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets, or Kubernetes
• Figma or UX/UI sensibilities
• Passion for staying current on new technologies and industry trends
