Role summary
Our multi-specialty Ophthalmology group is seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. This temporary position involves gathering patient information, performing ophthalmic testing (OCT, perimetry, photography), assisting in minor surgeries and laser procedures, and managing patient flow. Responsibilities also include clinical and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate has proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, knowledge of medical office procedures, strong data entry and typing skills, and excellent customer service. A COA certification is a plus. The role requires a commitment to patient care and collaboration within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Join Our Growing Ophthalmology Team as an Ophthalmic Technician!
Hours: M- F Up to 40 per week
Union, Rahway, Belleville, and Jersey City 1-2 times weekly as scheduled

Your Impact:
- Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
- Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
- Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
- Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
- Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
- Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
- Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.

- Ability to perform indirect activities, administrative tasks and any other assigned duties that contribute to the efficient & high-quality performance of the medical practice.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certification.
