Role summary

RHEA Canada is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join their team of solution consulting experts. This role involves conducting research and advising clients on security assessment and authorization, converged security solutions, risk management, and compliance with standards like NIST and Soc2 Type 2. The analyst will assess client environments, analyze system architectures, and implement security controls. This position is open to entry-level candidates with a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and requires a Government of Canada security clearance. Familiarity with OT systems and specific risk assessment frameworks is highly desirable.

RHEA is looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team of solution consulting experts. You will engage with a senior team and bring your analytics and security services education and knowledge to address complex and interesting challenges.

The Cybersecurity Analyst will conduct research and advise managers and clients in a consultive manner in the areas of security assessment and authorization, converged security solutions (such as building automation management, security architecture risk management and assessment, security policies and standards, security architectures and implementations).

This opportunity is open to entry-level candidates with limited experience (including internship experience).

Tasks and Activities

The scope of work will include:

  • Supporting Risk Assessments using defined frameworks, working collaboratively with senior staff to offer unique perspectives.
  • Supporting consulting services such as security assessment and authorization (SA&A) and Authority to Operate
  • Assessing client environments with respect to alignment with standards such as ITSG33, NIST, Soc2Type 2 and Governance Risk Management.
  • Performing security analysis and gap assessments according to selected frameworks and standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with specific regulations and standards.
  • Analyzing system architectures, network patterns, system integration, etc. to identify weaknesses.
  • Engaging in Building Automation System architecture reviews to assess IT and Physical Security alignments.
  • Reviewing, Analyzing and Implementing security controls.

Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field (or have equivalent experience).
  • Must hold (or qualify for) a Government of Canada security clearance.
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of operational technology systems (such as Programmable Logic Controllers, Remote Terminal Units, or Human-Machine Interfaces).

The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

  • Bilingual in English/French is considered an asset. It is not required to be bilingual.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment frameworks and standards, such as: UFC 4-010-06, ISA/IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, CISA Cybersecurity Best Practices for Industrial Control Systems, OTCC Operational Technology Cybersecurity Capability, NCSC Cyber Security Design Principles, ITSG-33
  • Relevant certificates (ex. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), CompTIA Security+)

Working Conditions

  • Employment Status: This is a full-time, permanent role
  • Location: Hybrid, with regular in-office attendance in downtown Ottawa
  • Compensation: Base salary of$65,000 to $85,000 based on experience and qualifications.
