Role summary

RoboForce, an AI robotics company, seeks a Senior/Staff Manufacturing Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, develop production equipment, and ensure manufacturability for advanced robotic systems. This role involves bridging concept to production, applying DFM/DFA principles, leading NPI, and collaborating with design, supply chain, and operations teams. Responsibilities include defining assembly sequences, validating processes, providing technical support to suppliers, and investigating defects. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of hardware manufacturing experience, expertise in mechanical/electrical integration, testing, quality control, CAD, GD&T, SPC, and data-driven root cause analysis. Experience in robotics manufacturing is preferred.

Why RoboForce

RoboForce is an AI robotics company developing Physical AI–powered Robo-Labor for dull, dirty, and dangerous work. The company's robots are engineered for demanding industrial environments, with a focus on real-world deployment and scalability.

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to define and optimize manufacturing processes, develop production equipment, and provide manufacturing input during product definition for our advanced robotic systems. You will work closely with design, supply chain, and operations teams to establish reliable processes and equipment that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Bridge the gap between initial concept and full production by providing design teams with critical insights on manufacturability, assembly, testing, and tooling. Apply design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA) principles and resolve manufacturability issues before production release.
  • Define assembly sequences, work instructions, and tooling requirements; establish critical process and quality parameters; and validate processes before production release.
  • Lead manufacturing readiness for new product launches, upgrades, and component changes by coordinating cost targets, resources, and schedules.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and collaborate with external integrators and suppliers during tooling and equipment specification, validation, commissioning, and production ramp-up.
  • Incorporate requirements for safety, product quality, resource utilization, and preventive maintenance into process and equipment design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to synchronize priorities.
  • Investigate manufacturing defects and process failures, implement corrective actions, and track improvements in yield, cycle time, and cost.
  • Assess the manufacturing impact of engineering changes, update process documentation and tooling, and track risk mitigation actions through implementation.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware manufacturing and production in fast-paced environments. Background in prototype development, production line design, or robotics is strongly preferred.
  • Proven expertise in mechanical assembly, electrical integration, sealing, torque tools, testing and troubleshooting, and quality control methods.
  • Strong analytical skills and engineering fundamentals in manufacturing, including data-driven root cause analysis and process improvement.
  • Experience with 3D and 2D CAD, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and execute hands-on engineering tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Strong communication skills in English, and Mandarin is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and schedules as required.
  • Benefits
  • Competitive stock options/equity programs.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan.
  • Visa sponsorship and green card support for qualified candidates.
  • Lunches and dinners, a fully stocked kitchen, and regular team-building events.
  • Compensation: Salary $145,000 to $235,000 USD + Bonus + Equity The base salary range above represents the expected compensation for this full-time U.S. position. Final compensation will be determined based on role scope, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training, and may fall outside the listed range in exceptional cases.
