Role summary

We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer with strong expertise in threat modelling, secure design practices, and technical documentation, specifically within the medical devices domain. The ideal candidate will ensure product security throughout the development lifecycle and support compliance with regulatory and industry standards. Key responsibilities include performing threat modelling and risk assessments, defining and implementing secure design principles, identifying vulnerabilities, developing security documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed security controls and ensure compliance with medical device cybersecurity standards.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer with strong expertise in threat modelling, secure design practices, and technical documentation, specifically within the medical devices domain. The ideal candidate will ensure product security throughout the development lifecycle and support compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform threat modelling and risk assessments for medical device products and supporting systems

• Define and implement secure design principles across the product development lifecycle

• Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies

• Develop and maintain security architecture and design documentation

• Collaborate with R&D, software, hardware, and quality teams to embed security controls

• Ensure compliance with medical device cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements

• Support security testing, validation, and remediation activities

• Participate in design reviews and provide cybersecurity guidance

• Prepare documentation for audits, regulatory submissions, and customer requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or product security

• Strong experience in threat modelling methodologies (STRIDE, attack trees, risk-based approaches)

• Experience in secure product design and architecture

• Knowledge of network security, encryption, authentication, and secure communication protocols

• Experience creating detailed technical and security documentation

• Understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC)

• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical devices or other regulated industries

• Knowledge of FDA cybersecurity guidance and global medical device regulations

• Familiarity with standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, and AAMI TIR57/TIR97

• Certifications such as CEH, CISSP, CISM, or Security+

• Experience working with embedded systems and connected devices (IoT)
