Role summary
Saga Education is seeking Federal Work-Study Math Tutors to provide high-impact, in-school tutoring remotely. Tutors will manage a caseload of students, delivering individualized math instruction using Saga Connect or district platforms and curriculum. Responsibilities include preparing lessons, troubleshooting technical issues, and acting as advocates and mentors to foster student academic growth and build meaningful relationships. This part-time, remote role is ideal for CUNY students eligible for Federal Work-Study, offering valuable experience while supporting educational equity.

As a Federal Work-Study Math Tutor with Saga Education, you'll earn income while making a real difference. Tutors from diverse backgrounds support students’ academic growth in schools nationwide. You'll gain valuable experience and have a meaningful impact—all while staying focused on your own education.
The Process
- Interested applicants apply and interview with Saga Education.
- Applicants who successfully pass the interview stage are invited to take a short math assessment.
- Selected Tutors become a part of our Federal Work-Study Program, where they will work with school districts to support student growth and success.
- Saga matches their availability with school district needs as they arise.
What You’ll Do
Federal Work Study Math Tutors manage a small caseload of students and promote academic success by focusing intently on providing high-dosage, high-impact tutoring that includes individualized instruction during the school day. During a typical school day, tutors will work remotely with students during multiple class periods and facilitate lessons using Saga Connect and/or platforms provided by the district. Federal Work Study Math Tutors will implement math curriculum to foster academic success and help students reach their goals. In addition to offering academic support, tutors will act as advocates and mentors, building strong, meaningful relationships with their students.
