Role summary

ScienceSoft is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing highly available and fault-tolerant services using DevOps practices. Key responsibilities include orchestrating open-source and proprietary solutions, developing CI/CD workflows, troubleshooting issues, and implementing system hardening best practices. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of DevOps experience, strong knowledge of Linux, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, and scripting languages like Python or Go. A passion for Infrastructure as Code and an engineering mindset are essential. The position offers remote work, competitive salary, and professional development opportunities.

Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the project managers, customers, and engineering teams to design and develop highly available, fault-tolerant, modern, powerful services.
  • Design, implement, manage and orchestrate open source solutions, also with integrated 3d party proprietary products.
  • Implement solutions development, building, and deployment workflows and procedures.
  • Go deeply into the root cause of issues. Help in fixes and workarounds development when necessary.
  • Implement best practices in hardening system, network, and application stability and security.

Your knowledge and experience

  • 5+ years in DevOps experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, CICD systems, and linked services.
  • Good programming skills and experience in languages like Perl/Shell/PHP/Python/Go.
  • AWS solid skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear, energetic, and excited interest in automating everything according to "Infrastructure as Code".
  • Engineering approach in work, even in unknown spheres.
  • At least intermediate English.

  • Big Data skills.
  • DB services work.
  • Virtualization and networking understanding.
