Role summary
Sensirion Connected Solutions is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build its next-generation methane sensing platform. This role requires hands-on experience with scalable Azure-based systems, CI/CD methodologies, and tools like Git, Docker, and Kubernetes. The engineer will design and develop cloud architectures using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, HCP Cloud), automate deployments, create observability monitors, and implement high-reliability solutions. Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing Engineering team and to help build out the next generation of our methane sensing platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable Azure-based systems. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of cloud features, CICD methodologies, tools such as git, docker, Kubernetes, and be able to apply their skills to our technical architecture. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with minimal supervision. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement, flexibility, taking initiative, and self-reflection.
Job Profile
- Plan, build and deliver our connected IoT platform vision by providing technical expertise and guidance in cloud technologies
- Design and develop application architectures and networks using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and HCP Cloud
- Collaborate with software developers to increase delivery velocity and predictability using AI and modern operational processes
- Selection and optimization of Azure resources to meet scalability, performance and availability requirements of the methane sensing platform
- Provide proven infrastructure deployments through continuous configuration automation (Actions, Pipelines, ARM templates)
- Create monitors and alerts for platform observability to enhance site reliability
- Provide high reliability and disaster recovery solutions for multi-region deployments
- Support the scaling up of a groundbreaking new product from a few clients to global reach.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and software engineers, data scientists and to create solutions our customers love
- Any other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time by management
Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years Cloud and IoT Infrastructure management experience using the Azure platform
- Fluent using Terraform/ARM/Bicep to develop and deploy cloud infrastructure and services
- Strong DevOps focus and experience building CICD pipelines using GitOps and ArgosCD
- Experience working with Event Hub or Kafka in a high-volume, message-based architecture
- Experience orchestrating workloads on dynamically scalable Kubernetes clusters
- Effectively managed large-scale MongoDB and CosmosDB deployments
- Familiarity with IoT Hub device provisioning, monitoring and management
- Hands-on use of AI agents to generate and update CICD pipelines, identify issues in log files and predict incidents before they happen
- Experience implementing a SOC2 or ISO27001 certified production environment
- Comfortable working with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert is a plus!
