Role summary
We are seeking a Robotics Engineer to own and enhance our teleoperation systems, which are crucial for training our models. This hands-on role involves ensuring the reliability and capability of teleop systems, troubleshooting issues that block data collection, and evaluating/integrating new hardware and software. You will work at the forefront of robot teleoperation, collaborating with ML, robotics, and data operations teams, as well as daily operators, to define how humans teach robots at scale. Responsibilities include triaging issues, building monitoring tools, benchmarking robot end-effectors, and improving the teleoperation experience for operators.
Company Overview
At Skild AI, we are building the world's first general purpose robotic intelligence that is robust and adapts to unseen scenarios without failing. We believe massive scale through data-driven machine learning is the key to unlocking these capabilities for the widespread deployment of robots within society. Our team consists of individuals with varying levels of experience and backgrounds, from new graduates to domain experts. Relevant industry experience is important, but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. We are looking for passionate individuals who are eager to explore uncharted waters and contribute to our innovative projects.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Robotics Engineer to own our teleop systems. Teleoperation is a key source of the data that trains our models, and you will make it more reliable and capable over time. You will be the first point of contact when teleop issues block data collection, and you will continuously evaluate and integrate the latest teleop hardware and software, from VR headsets and trackers to retargeting methods, robot end-effectors, and beyond. You will work at the frontier of robot teleoperation, helping define how humans teach robots at scale.
This is a hands-on role at the center of our data engine. You will work closely with ML, robotics, and data operations teams, as well as the operators who collect data every day.
