Role summary
STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is seeking a Fab Mechanic - Trim Cut (Finisher) associate for their 1st shift. This role involves fabricating rigid and flexible metal tubing for aerospace applications. Responsibilities include performing visual and dimensional checks, operating fabrication equipment such as swagers, grinders, and polishers, and ensuring parts meet blueprint specifications. The position requires the ability to read blueprints and manufacturing procedures, and involves frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. A high school diploma or GED and some related experience are preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials, assemblies, tube details, components and finished products.
- Inspect and test, components, parts, tube details, and assemblies to validate conformance to blueprints and instructions by customer and to company operating procedures by performing the following duties.
- Maintains accurate mylar fixtures.
- Polishes or prepares assemblies and details to acceptable cosmetic and dimensional requirements. Grinds walls to acceptable limits and specifications. Plans, lay out, fabricate, assembles, install, salvage parts from assemblies and repair rigid and/or flexible tube assemblies, fixtures, equipment, and products by performing the following duties.
- Sets up and operates abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment such as swager.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, method sheets, process sheets, policies and procedures to manufacture a variety of rigid and flexible metal tubes.
- Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
**The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.**
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
