Role summary

Sopra Steria is seeking a Technical Recruiter in Montréal to manage high-volume, full-cycle recruitment for various technical and consulting roles across Canada and the U.S. This hybrid role involves head-hunting, sourcing passive candidates, building talent pipelines, conducting market analysis, and managing the entire recruitment process from intake to onboarding. The position also includes supporting office operations and requires full bilingualism in French and English, along with proficiency in Microsoft 365. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience in technical recruiting and a track record of managing demanding workloads.

We are hiring a Technical Recruiter in Montréal.

You will own hiring across our Canadian and U.S. operations, recruiting talent across Software Engineering, Cloud & DevOps, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, SAP, Business Analysis, Project Management, and other consulting and corporate functions. You will be hunting for talent, running searches end to end, closing candidates, and making sure they land well once they say yes. The volume is high, the timelines are tight, and priorities shift with client demand. If you're interested in taking on new challenges, it's worth the read.

You will report directly to our Senior Manager, Operations and partner with hiring managers and delivery leads across the business. You will have genuine ownership from day one, direct visibility with leadership, and the chance to shape how talent acquisition works here rather than inherit a process that is already fixed.

Main missions :

Head-hunting and Sourcing

  • Source passive candidates through direct outreach, LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean and X-ray searches, referrals, alumni networks, GitHub, Meetups, and technical communities.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles ahead of hiring needs.
  • Develop compelling outreach campaigns that generate engagement from high-demand technical talent.
  • Conduct market mapping, salary benchmarking, and talent availability analysis across Canadian and U.S. markets.
  • Represent Sopra Steria at career fairs, networking events, and campus recruitment activities.

Full-Cycle Recruitment

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from intake and sourcing strategy to interviews, assessments, references, offers, and hiring.
  • Lead intake meetings to define role requirements, key qualifications, compensation ranges, and hiring timelines.
  • Conduct competency-based and technical pre-screen interviews, assessing skills, motivation, compensation expectations, and work authorization.
  • Present well-documented candidate shortlists with clear recommendations.
  • Ensure consistent communication and a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers throughout the process.
  • Recruit primarily for permanent full-time positions, with some contractor hiring.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready ATS records and ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. employment and privacy regulations.

Onboarding

  • Support pre-boarding activities from offer acceptance through Day 1.
  • Coordinate onboarding logistics with IT, Finance, HR, hiring managers, and other stakeholders to ensure readiness of equipment, system access, payroll, and workspace.
  • Deliver Day 1 onboarding and orientation while maintaining onboarding materials and checklists.
  • Conduct 30- and 90-day follow-up check-ins with new hires.

Office Operations Support

  • Serve as an on-site point of contact for the Montréal office during in-office days.
  • Coordinate office logistics, including supplies, access badges, and courier services.
  • Liaise with building management, IT teams, and external vendors, ensuring timely resolution of requests.
  • Support internal events, team activities, and client visits.
  • Contribute to ad hoc administrative projects and process improvement initiatives with the Senior Manager, Operations.
  • Three to five years of full-cycle recruitment
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting technical or IT profiles
  • A track record of managing high-volume, multi-requisition workloads against tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in human resources, business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fully bilingual in French and English, spoken and written.
  • Competitive salary and annual performance bonus
  • Health Insurance
  • Sick and Personal Days, as well as 3 weeks of vacation
  • Hybrid work environment
  • Monthly transportation allowance
  • Company equipment to help you work efficiently
  • A friendly, collaborative, and inclusive culture

We offer phenomenal career progression opportunities and benefits which you can flex to meet your needs. Excellent training and development opportunities, and the encouragement to develop your skills in a supportive and friendly environment.
