Role summary
The Process Engineer (Starship) will focus on Starship build reliability, developing global manufacturing procedures to maximize quality and efficient production. Responsibilities include creating and enforcing processes for manufacturing, integration, assembly, welding, NDE, cleanliness, and checkouts. The role involves designing tooling, defining inspection procedures, creating training, managing non-conforming hardware, and collaborating with design teams to improve DFM and production rates. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or design engineering are required. Preferred skills include experience with aerospace components, CAD software, welding techniques, NDT processes, and data visualization tools.
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
PROCESS ENGINEER (STARSHIP)
As a Process Engineer with a focus on Starship build reliability, you will be part of a widely interdisciplinary team developing global manufacturing procedures, maximizing quality through efficient production. You will employ “reliability by any means necessary”, stretching your expertise in fabrication methods, work instructions, tooling design, inspection procedures, data gathering/visualization, and broad collaboration. You will build new processes from the ground up, and routinely grade/improve execution of existing processes, driving continuous production improvement and ultimately be responsible for build-induced vehicle risk.
