Role summary
SpaceX is seeking a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer for its Starlink satellite production facility in Redmond. This role involves designing, developing, and managing automation projects from ideation to hand-off, with a focus on high-volume manufacturing. Responsibilities include architecting and debugging PLC code, implementing safety systems compliant with industry standards, designing electrical systems, and creating user-friendly HMI screens. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or electro-mechanical/robotic system design, with preferred skills in machine design, electrical systems, industrial software (PLC, HMI, SCADA), and motion control. This is an onsite role requiring a Bachelor's degree in an engineering, physics, or computer science discipline.
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
